Lower Your Energy Bill
Energy Reduction Inc. works with residential customers to offer several valuable services.
Comfort: We have the tools to quickly diagnose the reason why an area feels uncomfortable. We also offer options for fixing or improving these spaces.
Remediation: Our analysis will give you a quick understanding of where you can save money and be more comfortable. Since most homeowners rarely complete this work on their own, we will provide you with a work proposal/estimate to fix the highest priority areas for you. We will also fill out paperwork required for rebates.
Energy Assessment: Energy Reduction Inc.’s assessment will identify and prioritize the areas in your home that waste energy. While nearly every home is different, an Energy Assessment using our diagnostic tools reveal the specific areas of significant loss in your home. The greatest savings potential is usually found in targeting the leakiest areas first. Our analysis will look for “air sealing” and insulation opportunities throughout the house to determine if weatherizing these areas is warranted from an energy savings point of view.
Air Sealing
The first thing we look for is air sealing, typically the area of highest energy waste. Energy Reduction Inc. is certified in air sealing for homes. Most houses have nearly three times the amount of air leakage recommended for new construction housing. Why lose the air you paid to heat, cool, or dehumidify? We will make your living space more comfortable and more affordable, combining air sealing with insulation upgrades when needed. Air sealing also reduces noise, humidity, pollen, insects, and the likelihood of ice dams forming on your roof.
Insulation
Energy Reduction Inc. offers insulation solutions for homes, looking first in the attic as hot air rises and can be lost through the roof. Living with a house that is drafty is no longer necessary, especially when comfortable home environments are easy to achieve through proper sealing, insulation, and ventilation. Depending on the season, we will look for specific signs of insulation deficiencies. In the winter, we will check for cold walls and floors, uneven temperatures, and mold or moisture in the basement, uncomfortable hot air, and ineffective air conditioning. We will ask you about your heating and cooling costs to see if they are higher than they should be. Installing insulation along with careful air sealing is an investment that never stops paying. It won’t need to be replaced like an old furnace or worn out windows. It will save you money right away, Summer and Winter, for years to come. Rebates to complete this work are available from your local natural gas company. In fact, you pay into that rebate fund every month. Every natural gas bill has a small charge for energy efficiency. Take advantage of it.
Weatherization
Weatherizing your home includes insulation and air sealing, but also HVAC upgrades and maintenance, ground water control, and landscaping duties.
Doors and Windows
New doors and windows will make your home more energy efficient and save you money. You can install all new windows or only a few. Replacing these will make your home more comfortable by regulating temperature and increasing window functionality. Modern windows are easier to open and clean. This will also increase the value of your home.
HVAC
Energy Reduction Inc. uses our building knowledge and HVAC skills to find problems and make sure all components are operating at optimal levels. We are licensed and insured, offering free estimates and upgrades on equipment. We also install energy efficient air conditioners and all our work is guaranteed.
